DESCRIPTION

The VIP-912-MP "MousePedal" PS/2 Mouse Footswitch System is a PC productivity tool. It allows hands free entry of left, right, or both buttons by operating a convenient footswitch(s) depending on which model is ordered. Full operation of the mouse is available at all times in all models. All models include the VIP-912-MBA Controller unit. The VIP-912-MP1 includes one single action footswitch, the VIP-912-MP2 includes two single action footswitches, and the VIP-912-MP3 has one dual action footswitch.

PREPARE FOR OPERATION

ALL CONNECTIONS SHOULD BE MADE WITH THE PC POWER OFF!!

1.Connect Footswitch(s) to Controller Unit: A single footswitch is connected by plugging its cable into either one of the two 5 pin DIN female cable connectors on the Controller unit. The female cable marked with a color band represents the left mouse button on the mouse while the other cable with no band represents the right mouse button. If the customer has purchased the Controller unit only and is providing their own footswitch then pins 1 and 4 on either cable must be wired to a normally open pair of contacts to provide the appropriate left or right mouse button. When connecting a dual mouse footswitch plug it's cable into the 5 pin DIN female cable connector with the color band. This cable is set up to work with either a single or dual mouse footswitch. Again if the customer is supplying their own dual action footswitch, pins 1 and 4, and pins 2 and 3 must be wired to a normally open pair of contacts to provide the appropriate left and right mouse buttons.

2. Connect PS/2 Mouse to Controller Unit: Use the PS/2 mouse's captive cable to connect the mouse to the female 6 pin DIN connector on the Controller unit marked "MSE". The mouse will be powered from the PC via the Controller unit and via the mouse cable.

3. Connect Controller Unit to the PC: Use the male-male PC keyboard extension cable supplied with the Controller unit to connect the Controller unit to the PC's mouse port. This cable should be connected from the connector marked "PC MSE" to the PC. The Controller unit is powered from the PC via this cable. The Controller unit should be connected to the PC only while the PC is powered down.

OPERATION

The VIP-912-MP MousePedal is now ready for use. Power up the PC and wait for the PC to boot up as you would normally do before using the Mouse Footswitch.
