This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits of a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at his own expense.
This equipment has been tested and found to conform to the directives and standards for a Class A Information Technology Equipment type and for the Commercial Light Industrial equipment class.
Both the VIP-321 Series and the VIP-325 Series of "PhantomKM" Terminators allow PC's to boot-up and operate without the presence of the keyboard, and with the VIP-325, to plug in or out a keyboard at any time.
The VIP-328 Series and the VIP-329 Series "PhantomKM" Terminators allow PC's to boot-up and operate without the presence of the keyboard and PS/2 mouse, and with the VIP-329, to plug in a keyboard and PS/2 mouse at any time.
Special Note: All the eliminators mentioned above come with six pin mini-Din connectors on them. Adapters (may be purchased separately) are needed to connect them to AT style keyboards and PC's.
In all of the different installations described below the power to the PC must be off.
Installation of either the VIP-321 or VIP-325
1. Unplug the keyboard from the
PC,
2. Plug one end of the male/male connector supplied with the unit
into the PC's keyboard port (where the keyboard was plugged in)
and plug the other end into the either the VIP-321 or VIP-325
connector marked "TO PC KBD PORT".
3. Turn on the PC at any time. Both the VIP-321 and the VIP-325
will supply the boot up responses normally supplied by the keyboard,
so your PC will boot normally. When desired, plug a keyboard into
the female connector of the VIP-325 marked "KBD IN".
Adapters (may be purchased separately) the VIP-301-5M6F 5 pin
male to 6 pin female and the VIP-301-5F6M 5 pin female to 6 pin
male are needed if you are using an AT style keyboard and/or PC.
Installation of either the VIP-328 or VIP-329
1. Unplug the keyboard and PS/2
mouse from the PC,
2. Plug one end of the male/male connector supplied with the units
into the PC's keyboard port (where the keyboard was plugged in)
and plug the other end into the either the VIP-328 or VIP-329
connector marked "TO PC KBD PORT".
3. With the second male/male cable supplied plug one end into
the PC's mouse port (where the mouse was plugged in) and plug
the other end into either the VIP-328 or VIP-329 connector marked
"TO PC MSE PORT".
4. Turn on the PC at any time. Both the VIP-328 and the VIP-329
will supply the boot up responses normally supplied by the keyboard
and PS/2 mouse, so your PC will boot normally. On the VIP-329
when desired, plug a keyboard and/or mouse into the female connectors
of the VIP-329 marked "KBD IN" and "MSE IN".
Adapters (which may be purchased
separately) the VIP-301-5M6F 5 pin male to 6 pin female and the
VIP-301-5F6M 5 pin female to 6 pin male are needed if
you are using an AT style keyboard and/or PC.
All of the mentioned terminators are intended to allow stand-alone, unattended operations of your PC. They do not require any operator actions to operate properly. With the VIP-325, and the VIP-329 series of terminators, allow the user to plug in a keyboard into them at any time, while the VIP-329, allow the user to plug in a PS/2 mouse at any time. The VIP-321 does not provide a connector for plugging in a keyboard, and the VIP-328 does not provide connections for plugging in either a keyboard or PS/2 mouse.
